Connections for Ageing Well in Newcastle is an exciting new collaboration between HMRI, City of Newcastle and Hunter Ageing Alliance.
This free community program will provide seniors with the opportunity to:
- Meet new people
- Explore opportunities for community connection
- Learn and be active together, and
- Get out and about in our local community.
Workshop Sessions: These sessions will be deliver practical, creative and informative knowledge in a relaxed, participatory workshop style. Get ready to make new social connections, develop your skills and build your knowledge! Included is expert advice and skill building for ageing well and managing health and social care needs.
Device Advice to Stay Connected: Small groups of seniors will be paired with a young person to upskill your technology skills, on-line interaction and on-line safety.
Fresh Air Active Sessions: Under the guidance of a movement physiologist – fun and safe activities will be held in several outdoor spaces including Jesmond Park, Lambton Park, Foreshore Park, Minmi Park, Islington Park, Empire Park (Bar Beach) and guided nature walks in Blackbutt Reserve.
