Professor Sven Pettersson

This presentation will focus on results of microbiome mediated effects on host organ function relevant to ageing and how these results may be considered to develop better guidelines for precision medicine especially among elderly.

Professor Sven Pettersson is currently appointed as Professor in Metabolic Diseases with LKC School of Medicine, NTU, Singapore and Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELCE). His overall research interest is to understand mechanisms by which gut microbiota support host physiology with a focus on signalling pathways that influences & regulate energy consuming organs like brain and muscleFor his work on mammalian gene expression and microbe-host communication, he has received numerous prizes and awards. In June 2015 he was appointed as a senior CIFAR fellow - The Canadian Institute of Advanced Research (CIFAR).
