Support the Sports Concussion Clinic at the 2018 Winery Running Festival
The Sports Concussion Clinic (SCC) aims to support our local sportsmen and women by providing FREE access to evaluation and medical recommendations to players suffering concussive injury. The Priority Research Centre for Stroke and Brain Injury supports the SCC’s associated research activities, which focuses on supporting athletes with best evidence-based practice.
The clinic is also committed to advancing knowledge through research, in conjunction with the Priority Research Centre for Stroke and Brain Injury. One of the SCC’s critical focuses, aside from each athlete’s clinical care, is to establish a research database to track severity of injury and presenting symptoms, with recovery from injury.
This will allow us to make evidenced-based ( i.e., information driven) recommendations regarding policies and care, and potentially predict recovery times in athletes in the future.
The SCC is open to athletes age 16+ of all abilities and disciplines - from junior teams to professional players. Due to limited resources, the clinic is not able to accommodate non-sporting related concussions at this time.
