World Cancer Day Public Seminar

February 4, 2020 - 10:30am to 1:00pm
World Cancer Day Public Seminar

An Insight into Cancer Research in the Hunter

On World Cancer Day, HMRI is inviting our community to join us to learn more about what’s happening in cancer research at HMRI and its impacts for patients.

From researcher presentations, information booths to lab tours, find out how finding better solutions for patients is leading cancer research at HMRI and beyond.

Our talented researchers and clinicians will share how patient-centred care is guiding our endeavours to ensure we deliver life-changing results.

Learn about our team’s work in:

  • Patient-centred patient care – how clinicians are building on their work with patients to research better treatments for people living with cancer with Dr Anoop Enjeti
  • Drug repurposing: how we can take existing drugs – already proven safe and effective in humans – and use them to aid cancer treatment with Associate Professor Nikola Bowden
  • Addressing the emotional impacts of cancer on patients and their carers with Dr Elizabeth Fradgley.

Important note: if you would like to attend a lab tour, please wear enclosed shoes (no sandals or thongs).

Parking at HMRI is limited, so we recommend car-pooling or public transport. There will be limited event parking on-site.

Attendance is complimentary, but please register below.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing the event and our life-changing work with you.
