Most patients with late stage bowel cancer will eventually die of the disease because bowel cancer cells are resistant to drug treatment.

A major cause of this drug resistance is a mutation called KRAS found in around 30-50% of bowel cancers. This study will investigate the cell survival and cell death pathways in mutant KRAS cells to better understand the cellular pathways leading and test strategies to overcome the resistance to treatment in breast cancer cells.
