Dr Redgrove’s successful PhD project focused on developing an understanding of the molecular mechanisms that underpin the functional maturation of human spermatozoa.

In addition, Kate was actively involved in establishing a collaboration with IVF Australia (Hunter clinic) to study the implications of this research for male infertility.

This pioneering work has encouraged a complete reappraisal of the way in which we view the process of sperm maturation and has helped to define the aetiology of one of the most common causes of human male infertility.
