Transition to motherhood is a major development in a woman’s life which is marked by dramatic changes in identity, roles and relationships. Although many mothers are able to meet the challenges of parenting, others, especially first time mothers, feel overburdened and some become depressed.

Postnatal depression (PND) affects every 1 in 7 women postnatally. This project seeks to investigate whether Psychoeducation delivered through mobile application (app) could be a convenient, consistent, and cost-effective intervention to provide postnatal support for new mums. The improvement of mothers’ belief in their own abilities will eventually improve their physical and psychological well-being and their infants’ health.
