Diet and Cardiovascular disease risk

This project aims to develop and validate a cardiac specific Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) with a corresponding diet quality index that is aligned with foods and eating patterns identified as being compatible with cardiovascular health. This will be achieved by comparing the responses to this cardiac specific FFQ, completed by people with cardiovascular disease, to biomarkers found in a fasting blood sample. This questionnaire will be developed for use in both paper-based and online formats so it can be used in eHealth interventions and allow practitioners to pinpoint specific components of a patients adherence to dietary advice that require further interventional work.
