Do you or someone you know use a powered mobility device (electric wheelchair or mobility scooter)? Do you have difficulties walking due to your weight? Researchers are looking for volunteers 18 years and over to participate in a survey on how the powered mobility device affects the activities you do.  There is also the option to be involved in an interview.

What is the research about?

We will be trying to answer the following questions:

  1. How does a powered mobility device affect your quality of life?
  2. How does a powered mobility device affect your daily activities, for example, your work, leisure/hobbies, or self-care?

Participation in this research involves answering a survey and you can also take part in an interview.

Who can participate in the research?

Researchers are looking for people who use a powered mobility device due to difficulties walking due to their weight and who have a BMI greater than 30. This study is not suitable for you if you have a spinal cord injury or progressive neurological condition. Please see the link below to calculate your body mass index (BMI)
