It’s the ultimate Spring Cleaning blitz in the middle of winter, perfect for those contemplating a professional TV-style make-over or keen to help their community. Stars of The Block 2014, Maxine Stokes and Karstan Smith, will even be providing the expert renovators’ touch.
This unique prize will be auctioned at the HMRI Ball at Newcastle City Hall on Saturday night (June 20), supporting medical research in the Hunter. Ball guests can also bid on a Scenic Tours 15-day European river cruise worth over $20,000, exclusive accommodation in a French villa, artworks including
Aaron Kinnane’s 2015 HMRI Art Series painting, and more.
HMRI maintenance officer Rory Withers arranged the tradies prize and is personally contributing $500 cash for supplies. The winning bidder can have their plumbing and electrical systems spruced up, air-conditioning serviced, the interior and garden beautified, car serviced – even their computer issues sorted by HMRI’s own IT specialists.
From Scotty Cam, host of The Block, comes Mitre 10 gift cards and two signed caps.
All up, the tradies are armed with $3000 worth of gift certificates and in-kind donations, bringing the total prize value to over $13,000! Experts say a much-needed maintenance facelift can double or even triple the amount invested through added property value.
The prize can be redeemed at the property of your choice within the Newcastle Local Government Area – the successful bidder can donate it to a club or community group of their choice.
