Laureate Professor awarded a prestigious Visiting Professorship

Laureate Professor Paul Foster FAHMS, a global leader in respiratory research, has been appointed as the Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for 2018.

The Visiting Professorship is a highly competitive accolade, awarded to eminent and globally distinguished academics.

The NUS Professorship was initiated in 1996 as part of its efforts to contribute to the development of meaningful interactions with its alma mater through academic pursuits.

The Professorship is rotated among the various Faculties and Schools, with Visiting Professors offering insights of benefit to Singapore in their area of expertise.

With two visits of around two to three weeks in duration, Professor Foster will immerse himself in the University during this time.

“I’ll be presenting a lecture to the University on my Journey in Science, and I will also be giving a biological talk around developing new therapeutics.”

This visit will help strengthen international links with the University of Singapore, Professor Foster adds. “I’ll be broadly integrated into the university environment and will be able to tell them about my research/science journey and the important role that UON and HMRI play in biomedical science in Australia. I’m also looking forward to being able to present lectures to undergraduates through to postgraduates and learned faculty.”

A research-intensive institute, NUS is ranked first in Singapore and the whole of Asia,and 15th in the World by the QS World University Rankings.

Professor Foster will take up this honour in April and November, 2018 and is looking forward to collaborating with his global peers at this institution renowned for research.
