Mr Ademir Gabardo

What are your research interests?

  • Complex network analysis
  • Community detection in complex networks.
  • Social Network Analysis

Why did you get into research?

The field of complex network analysis is diverse, encompassing the analysis of relationships in a social network or the relationships between genes in a biological network. Understanding these structures provides information for other researchers such as sociologists or biologists to explore complex systems.

What would be the ultimate goal for your research?

Create an algorithm for overlapping community detection capable of reducing the level of abstraction between the real-world phenomena represented in the complex network analysed and the overlapping communities given by this algorithm.

Ademir Gabardo is a computer science PhD student at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, The University of Newcastle, MSc. in Computer Engineering by Graduate Program in Applied Computing (PPGCA) at the Federal Technological University of State of Parana (UTFPR), Laboratory of Bioinformatics, 2014. BSc. in Computer Science by the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), 2012. Lecturer of the course of Bachelor in Information Systems at UDESC for disciplines of System analysis and Knowledge management. Gabardo is an author of titles for Object-Oriented Programming, E-commerce Analysis, and Social Network Analysis.
