Dr Syeda Naqvi is a Clinical Microbiologist and Infectious Diseases Physician at John Hunter Hospital. She is affiliated with the Infection Research Program at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and is a member of the Lancefield Society Early-career Research Network.
She is an early career researcher with a special interest in bacterial genomics, antimicrobial resistance, and utilising randomised clinical trials to establish optimal management strategies for severe bacterial infections.
Her work aims to improve microbiological diagnostics for orthopaedic infections and understand the molecular epidemiology of Group B Streptococcus and antimicrobial resistance mechanisms in Haemophilus influenzae.
