Dr Kiranjit Kaur is an early career researcher at the University of Newcastle. She holds a PhD in Food Science from the University of Newcastle, where her research focused on the relationships between selected sweet and bitter-taste receptors and features of oral health.
Kiranjit also earned a Master of Public Health with distinction from the University of Newcastle and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (Punjab) in India.
With over seven years of multidisciplinary research experience, she has developed expertise in lifestyle behaviours, pre-diabetes, sleep and mental health, oral health, taste genetics, oral microbiome, human nutrition, colorectal cancer, obesity stigma, and cardiovascular health.
Kiranjit is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and has a background in clinical trials, project co-ordination, and team management.
Throughout her career, Kiranjit has demonstrated proficiency in study planning, participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis using various digital research tools.
She has published several journal articles and presented at numerous conferences, earning recognition for her contributions to the field. Kiranjit is also an engaging public speaker and experienced educator, having taught and mentored students at the University of Newcastle.
