Dr Zac Germon is an early-career postdoctoral researcher within the University of Newcastle’s Precision Medicine Research Program.

Currently working in the Cancer Signalling Research Group of Professor Matt Dun, his research is focused on developing novel treatment stratergies for high-risk paediatric cancers such as Acute myeloid leukamia (AML) and Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).

Dr Germon completed his PhD in 2022 and has since specialised in cell and molecular biology techniques including Redox- and phospho- proteomics used to investigate the mechanisms underpinning high-risk cancers and understand their responses to therapy in greater depth; information that can lead to improved therapeutic strategies.

The overall objective of this work and the work of the group is to conduct patient focused research that contributes to improving survival of patients diagnosed with high-risk cancers.
