Dr Vaishwik Patel specialises in Materials Science and Engineering and has seven years of experience in biomedical research. His career is dedicated to advancing healthcare through pioneering research and innovative development.

Dr Patel possesses a strong command of various analytical and immunological techniques. He has significantly contributed to the development of sensors for detecting biomolecules and chemical pollutants such as perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) using nanoparticles. Initially, he focused on reducing oxidative stress using different redox-active nanoparticles.

His extensive research experience includes managing multiple projects from ideation to implementation, ensuring rigorous scientific standards and impactful results. Additionally, he works on targeted drug delivery, utilising lipid-based, metal, and metal oxide nanoparticles for cancer treatment.

Currently, Dr Patel is developing extracellular matrix gels from various tissues for applications in cancer treatment and wound healing. This innovative research aims to improve therapeutic outcomes and accelerate the healing process.

Dr Patel received the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Higher Degree by Research Training Scholarship from the University of Newcastle, highlighting his dedication to academic excellence and research innovation. This fellowship enabled Dr Patel to pursue his Ph.D. and gain valuable teaching experience.
