Ama Ampofo a research academic and research officer at the University of Newcastle, and a registered nurse with more than seven years of experience in general medicine, surgery, and aged care.

She received the prestigious 2022 Health and Behaviour International Collaborative Award and completed her PhD in Public Health and Behavioral Science at the University of Newcastle in 2023.

As an early career researcher, she has published 17 peer-reviewed journal articles (all within the last 5 years), and have other publications under peer review in reputable journals.

She has been awarded six internal and external competitive grants worth over $40,000, including the University of Newcastle College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing Strategic Research Pilot Grant, HMRI Equity in Health and Wellbeing Research seed grant, the Australian Prevention Centre and Priority Research Centre for Health Behaviour.
