Dr. Hayley Scott is a senior member of the Nutrition and Immunometabolism Research Group at the HMRI Immune Health Research Program and is a Lecturer in Nutritional Biochemistry at the School of Biomedical Sciences, College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing. She is also the Nutrition and Exercise Theme Leader in the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy.

Dr Hayley Scott is a mid-career Nutrition Scientist and Accredited Practising Dietitian (8 years post-PhD).

Her research is seeking to determine how obesity, diet, exercise, hormones and metabolic health impacts asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and to establish the mechanisms responsible for these effects. The importance of these factors in lung health is now well recognised, but high-quality research in this area has been lacking until recently.

Her qualification as a nutrition scientist and dietitian positions her uniquely within her field, as she has a thorough knowledge of nutrition and biochemical aspects of health and disease, and ais able to perform specialised dietary manipulations to achieve targeted changes in disease-specific outcomes.
