Sarah Dineen is an expert in community pharmacists’ management of acute conditions and consultation services, with additional expertise in primary healthcare, pharmacy practice, and health services research. She has led national and international research projects and published extensively, focusing on evaluating the clinical, humanistic, economic, and implementation aspects of community pharmacy consultation services in Australia.

Sarah has a deep understanding of national and international policy, having consulted with experts from the UK and Canada. She maintains a strong collaborative network with universities, professional organisations, researchers, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders.

Currently, Sarah leads two high-profile NSW Government-funded projects to implement and evaluate the expanded scope of practice for pharmacists, enhancing access to care for conditions such as urinary tract infections, contraception, and skin issues. These projects involve 18 partner organisations and chief investigators from major national universities, with outcomes expected to impact primary healthcare delivery and pharmacy practice both nationally and internationally.

She also leads the pharmacy arm of a multi-year project aimed at improving healthcare access in regional NSW by integrating a new triage line with general practice and pharmacy consultations.

Sarah serves as an Executive Committee Member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation’s Community Pharmacy Section. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including NSW Young Pharmacist of the Year (2021), the International Excellence Award for Women in Science (2022), and Champion for Change (2020).
