Dr Lisa Mackenzie is a Senior Research Fellow based at the Calvary Mater Newcastle Department of Palliative Care, supporting the development, implementation and dissemination of investigator-initiated and grant-funded research projects within the department.

Dr Mackenzie is also a Clinical Psychologist with the Hunter New England Centre for Gynaecological Cancer and holds a Conjoint Lecturer appointment with the University of Newcastle.

Lisa has worked in the field of public health, behavioural science and health services research for over ten years. She has PhD and postdoctoral research experience in the field of psycho-oncology, supportive and palliative care at the University of Newcastle, Kyoto University Hospital (Japan), Nagoya City University Hospital (Japan) and Calvary Mater Newcastle Department of Palliative Care.

Lisa has supervised research higher degree students in the fields of public health and behavioural science, including students with professional backgrounds in psychology, physiotherapy, and nursing.
