Dr Alex Flynn is a Medical Oncologist and Clinical Trials Fellow at the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), where she leads innovative research to enhance chemotherapy dosing methods.

Supported by the NSW Regional Cancer Research Network’s 2023 ‘Shovel Ready’ Translational Research Project Grant, Dr Flynn’s work aims to facilitate at-home blood sample collection through a finger prick test. This approach is particularly beneficial for patients in rural and remote areas, alleviating the need for frequent hospital visits and reducing travel burdens.

A University of Sydney alumna with training across regional hospitals in the Hunter & New England, Dr Flynn is deeply committed to addressing healthcare disparities. Inspired by her father’s legacy of providing medical care in regional areas, she is dedicated to enhancing access and care for rural and regional communities.
