Dr Tegan Grace is a postdoctoral researcher and co-Deputy Director of the Mothers and Babies Research Program at the Hunter Medical Research Institute and the Study Manager of the NEW1000 Pregnancy Cohort Study.
She has worked closely with families from Newcastle and the Hunter to develop research priorities for the NEW1000 Study and chairs the Healthcare Consumer Committee.
Dr Grace is dedicated to continued engagement with our community and local families to ensure the research within the ongoing NEW1000 Study has a focus on the health and wellbeing outcomes of importance to families.
Dr Grace has worked in the field of population health research for over ten years and has extensive experience with large longitudinal pregnancy cohorts.
Dr Grace’s research focuses on the impacts of maternal gestational health, breastfeeding and early neonatal events on longitudinal child development outcomes.
Dr Grace has published in high quality maternal and child health journals, receiving local, national and international recognition for her work on maternal gestational health and neuromuscular development. She has presented her research at national and international conferences.
