Cancer is an invasive, adaptive process that interacts and adapts to the microenvironment, subjugating the normal tissue around it to optimise growth and survival. Understanding this growth and interaction in three dimensions will add additional insight into the way cancers expand and spread.

Traditional techniques like histology and radiology typically only give two-dimensional information.

This project will adapt a novel technology that has recently been implemented at the HMRI to study multiple proteins and cell structures simultaneously in brain cancers, and all in 3D.

This small pilot grant seeks a small amount of funding to purchase novel reagents for CLARITY LightSheet imaging of human brain cancer samples. All salary costs are in kind.
