Comparing the body’s response to diet and exercise in overweight men and women

Diet and exercise are the most common combination of recommended healthy lifestyle behaviours, but we have limited understanding of their interactions on many aspects of physiological function. Whether males and females respond in the same way to combinations of diet and exercise is not known. This project will investigate the effects of two different diet strategies on the physiological response to exercise and compare the responses in overweight males and females. This study will provide important preliminary information to further our understanding of the interaction of diet and exercise on physiological function.
