This three year phase of the Dads and Daughter Exercising and Empowered (DADEE) project aims to transition the DADEE program to a sustainable model embedded in the Newcastle community, capitalising on the achievements of the initial 2014-2016 grant period. 

We will test an innovative, world-first approach to achieving sustainability, where future facilitators are trained through a flagship University of Newcastle (UON) course for pre-service teachers, as as delivering the program to an additional 240 fathers and 320 daughters We will also track these teachers as they graduate from the University and start teaching in schools across Australia. 

Through this research, we will be able to determine if participation in the DADEE University course leads to meaningful, positive changes in policy, professional practice and teacher perceptions in relation to providing gender-equity for girls in sport and fostering positive social-emotional wellbeing in all students.
