Fathers have a unique and key role in shaping their children's dietary and physical activity behaviors and emerging evidence suggests suboptimal physical activity and dietary behaviours of fathers may be passed on to their children at a very young age.

Building on the success of international award winning ‘Healthy Dads Healthy Kids’ program for primary school aged children, the aim of this world-first project is to test the effectiveness of ‘Healthy Dads, Healthy Youngsters’ (HDHY), as a unique father-focused obesity prevention program targeted and tailored for preschool aged children (3-5yrs).
