Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia with Alzheimer’s disease accounting for 70% of age-associated dementia.

Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by the accumulation of proteins known as amyloid-beta and tau in the brain. This grant will investigate therapeutic approaches that target the amyloid-beta and tau accumulation in the brain with the hope of finding effective drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease into the future.
