Associate Professor Mitchell Hansen is an Adult and Paediatric Neurosurgeon at John Hunter Hospital. He also works in the private system at several hospitals.
He is the current President of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia and chair of AO Spine Australia and New Zealand.
His PhD was in basic science, studying purinergic neurotransmission. He is an enthusiastic teacher and enjoys collaborating across the spectrum of disciplines.
