Research Programs

Co-developed and trialled the GPCOG screening instrument for dementia, for use in general practice
Contributed to and trialled the use of GP dementia guidelines, updated in 2019. She was also part of the team developing the NHMRC National Dementia guidelines
Has worked with GP practice nurses and nurse practitioners to develop models of care for dementia involving GPs and the wider primary health care team

Professor Dimity Pond is a GP clinician researcher. She has an established record in aged care research, particularly in the area of dementia.

She has received over $35 million in grants, including a number of NHRMC funded grants, and published over 150 papers in the peer reviewed literature. She is currently chair of the Research Committee (REC-R) of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Throughout her career she has remained in clinical pratice.
