Dr Dawn Simpson is a Physiotherapist and early-career researcher with the University of Newcastle, and an Emerging Leader with the International Stroke Rehabilitation and Recovery Alliance.

Dawn’s postdoctoral research focuses on post-stroke fatigue, and she was awarded a 2023 Stroke Foundation Seed Grant that will facilitate the co-design and testing a novel psychoeducational tool for post-stroke fatigue.

She was part of the International 3rd Stroke Recovery and Rehabilitation Roundtable Fatigue Task Force. Dawn is also interested in factors that influence sedentary behaviour and physical activity for stroke survivors, and health service models that could support improved rehabilitation and recovery outcomes for survivors of stroke.
