Dr Janine Lombard is a Medical Oncologist working at the Calvary Mater Hospital, Newcastle.
Dr Lombard’s clinical expertise is in the care of patients with gynaecological or breast cancers and she is passionate about improving health outcomes for these individuals.
In addition to clinical work, Dr Lombard is involved in clinical and translational research in both gynaecological and breast cancer through her research at Calvary Mater Medical Oncology and via collaboration with HMRI researchers and the University of Newcastle.
She has been a member of the Australia and New Zealand Gynaecology Oncology Group (ANZGOG) since 2007 serving long term on the Ovarian cancer tumor working group and is currently appointed as Chair of ANZGOG’s Uterine Tumour Working Group and member of the ANZGOG Research Advisory Panel.
Dr Lombard has also had a long affiliation with Breast Cancer Trials Group (BCT Australia and New Zealand); serving for several years on the BCT Scientific Advisory Panel. In her role at Calvary Mater, she also represents the medial workforce as the current chair of the Medical Staff Council.
