Dr Jessica Bergmann is the Phase 1 Chair of the Joint Medical Program (JMP) leading the first two years of the program at the University of Newcastle (UON) and the University of New England (UNE).

Dr Bergmann obtained her tertiary education in Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom graduating with an MBBS from the Medical University of Lübeck. Before embarking on her academic career in Australia, she practiced medicine in Germany. During her clinical tenure, she trained as a Total Quality Management (TQM) team leader, overseeing a diverse team comprising ten different healthcare professions. This experience shaped her passion for inter-professional education, and she is hoping to enhance medical students learning with new educational collaborations.
