Research Programs

Despite substantial career disruption, received >$5million in competitive grant funding, including an NHMRC Early Career Fellowship
Published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, published a commissioned report for the NSW Ministry of Health, and co-authored reports for the Mitchell Institute and the Australian Health Policy Collaboration
Partnered with leading organisations including the Cancer Institute NSW and the NSW Get Healthy Coaching and Information Service to evaluate and improve population health services

Dr Kate Bartlem is an NHMRC Early Career Fellow with the School of Psychology, University of Newcastle and a conjoint behavioural scientist with Hunter New England Population Health.

Her research career has focused on improving the physical health and wellbeing of disadvantaged population groups, with a focus on behavioural health risks and improving access to and quality of preventive health care.

Kate’s current work focuses on prevention and cessation of e-cigarettes use amongst youth, and the interaction between physical health and mental wellbeing among a variety of populations.
