Publications: Dr Sly has published 24 articles in leading peer-reviewed journals, with approximately 1140 citations, and a topic field-weighted impact of 1.3 (Scopus).
Research expertise: Mental Health Recovery-focused; Psychosis and Suicide Prevention Research; Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Use; Best practice implementation/translation; Use of digital technologies in MHS.
Awards/Funding: Dr Sly has attracted competitive funding to undertake MH recovery-oriented research, and was awarded 2022 Researcher of the Year, at the Hunter New England Local Health District Psychology Conference.

Dr Ketrina Sly is the Allied Health Research Leader for Mental Health Services (MHS) in the Hunter New England Local Health District. Dr Sly is a Clinical Psychologist, Conjoint Associate Lecturer with the School of Medicine and Public Health, College of Health, Medicine, and Wellbeing at the University of Newcastle, and an Affiliate Member of the Healthy Minds Program, at the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

Dr Sly is a Clinician Researcher forging a reputation in MHS research over the past 25 years. As part of her Research Leader role with the Mental Health-Research Evaluation Analysis and Dissemination (MH-READ) Unit, Dr Sly has established collaborative relationships with Hunter New England health staff, HMRI clinician-researchers, and University of Newcastle Academics; with a focus on research consultation aimed at developing the capacity to generate and embed clinical research and quality initiatives that inform service decisions concerning evidence-based best practice.

Dr Sly is focused on promoting and embedding strategic MHS-based evaluations and translational clinical research, that aims to improve care outcomes for people experiencing complex mental health issues. Her current research activities include:
