Dr Michael Fricker is a clinical researcher who leads a research team aiming to improve care for people with chronic respiratory diseases such as asthma and COPD.

Working alongside clinicians and patients, Dr Fricker uses his cell biology training to better understand how inflammation promotes chronic respiratory disease, how to target it with new medicines, and to develop biomarkers that will promote optimal use of treatments in a personalised medicine approach.

Michael has successfully completed the supervision of eight PhD students, one master’s student, and one honours student.
