Dr Simon Davidson is a Research Fellow working with Hunter New England Population Health and the University Centre for Rural Health in the field of musculoskeletal pain and chronic diseases.
He graduated in 2011 from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours. Simon developed his clinical skills and knowledge while working in the public health system in Australia and the United Kingdom, primarily in the field of orthopaedics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Simon’s PhD, which was conferred in 2024 by the University of Newcastle, investigated ways to improve the public health system in Australia for people living with musculoskeletal conditions.
His topic areas include the relationship between chronic diseases and musculoskeletal conditions and optimising the management of musculoskeletal conditions in the public health system, particularly in hospital Emergency Departments and rural settings.
