Janine Charnley is a dedicated researcher and advocate committed to advancing the methodology, measurement, and monitoring of unmet health and social care needs of older people on a global scale. Currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Newcastle, Australia, her research focuses on measuring and understanding the unmet needs for health and social care among older persons.
Janine holds a rich academic background, including a Bachelor of Science, Honors (first class) in Biomedical Sciences, and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the University of Newcastle.
Her recent endeavours have seen her immersed in projects aimed at transforming the landscape of healthy ageing. Janine works as a consultant with the World Health Organization to monitor the goals of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing and has also recently worked as a Project Manager for a World Health Organization-funded initiative to advance the measurement and monitoring of unmet care needs of older people globally.
Janine’s contributions to this project culminated in the development of the CARE∞TRACK consortium (www.care-track.net), poised to drive impactful change in elder care practices worldwide.
