Professor Ami Eidels completed a PhD in Cognitive Psychology at Tel Aviv University (with Professor Daniel Algom), and postdoctoral training in Mathematical Psychology at Indiana University (with Professor James Townsend). He then accepted a faculty position at the School of Psychology, University of Newcastle, Australia.
His research focuses on information-processing models of human cognition and how various sources of information are processed and combined. He studies how cognitive workload affects the efficiency of processing and the capacity of our cognitive system, in the lab and in applied settings.
Professor Eidels and his students also scale-up cognitive modeling and machine learning techniques to study performance of human-human and human-bot teams. They conduct lab-based experiments, develop models of human cognition, and collaborate with various Defence and Industry partners.
