Are you aged 65 years or over? Do you live at home? Are you interested in improving your health and wellbeing? Researchers from the University of Newcastle are seeking volunteers to help test whether a new internet-based program which supports older people to remain socially connected is helpful in improving their wellbeing. Volunteers will receive a $30 gift voucher in appreciation of their contribution

Why is the research being done?

To test whether using a private online community to connect seniors can improve their wellbeing.

Who can participate in the research study?

Seniors aged 65 years or over who live at home; can read, write, and speak English; can access internet and are not under a guardianship order.

What will study participants be asked to do?

Participants will be either asked to interact with a private online community or receive usual care from their aged care service and other health care providers.
Participants will also be asked to complete 3 surveys that take approximately 20 minutes each about their age, gender, quality of life and wellbeing.
