Dr Catherine Berry is a passionate infectious diseases clinician and researcher, specifically interested in drug-resistant tuberculosis (TB).
After training locally in Hunter-New England, she spent 10 years working in the field in countries like Uzbekistan and Belarus then supporting groundbreaking clinical trials which have improved treatment outcomes and greatly decreased the duration of TB treatment.
Dr Berry is now keen to translate that experience to improve antimicrobial care in the Hunter New England region. She is particularly interested in how rural and remote communities can access better antimicrobial care through co-designed stewardship programs with local stakeholders.
