Your gift can save someone's life. Including your own
Thereโs a 1 in 4 chance that you or someone you love will have a stroke in your lifetime. That's one every 19 minutes.
It only takes one breakthrough to save thousands of lives.

Hear her story below...
Stroke can happen to anyone at anytime
A miracle didnโt save her life. It was medical research.
Crystal was given Tenecteplase right when she needed it most. Thatโs because our researchers are also embedded within the health service.
HMRIโs stroke trial found that two-thirds of patients treated with the trial drug, Tenecteplase, had major neurological improvements within a day. And 3 months later, 75% of patients experienced excellent or good recovery
Our clinical trial for stroke delivered a breakthrough treatment that has become the standard practice globally.
Because of HMRI, our world-famous researchers and clinicians have made significant breakthroughs in preventing and understanding stroke.
However, the Australian Government funds only 8% of our medical research grant applications each year, meaning 92% of HMRI researchers are knocked back. Even outstanding ideas that could improve care, prevent disease, or save lives have less than a 1 in 10 chance of being funded through traditional grant schemes.
