Research Programs

Associate Professor Oldmeadow is an experienced applied statistician with a strong record of
leading statistical consultancy projects across a range of health research areas, including cancer,
stroke, cardiology, respiratory medicine, public health, and health services. He has played a
central role in the design, analysis, and data management of clinical studies from early-phase through to Phase 4 trials.
His expertise spans causal modelling, adaptive trial design, and Bayesian methods, and he is recognised internationally for his contributions to applied statistical
methods in health research.

As an executive member of the Hunter Medical Research Institute, he has contributed to the institute’s strategic direction, supported cross-disciplinary collaboration, and championed a culture of excellence. His leadership has supported successful grant outcomes, efficient project
delivery, and capacity building across research teams. He is committed to enabling high-quality, data-driven solutions to complex challenges in health research.
