This free interactive exhibit takes kids through the human body from mouth to exit via giant inflatable bottom. Learn about gut health, digestion, and how our bodies process food in this hands-on experience.
The Poo Palace takes visitors on a journey through the human digestive system, starting at the mouth, traveling through the stomach, small intestine, and colon, and finally exiting, just like food does, through a giant inflatable bottom.
Along the way, primary school aged children learn how the body processes food, absorbs nutrients, and eliminates waste. It’s a hands-on, engaging experience designed to highlight the importance of gut health and digestion in overall wellbeing.
Saturday 22nd August
The Poo Palace will be open between 10.00am - 3.00 pm
Tickets will be available via the Newcastle Museum from Friday 21st August at 9.00 am.
Sessions will be 30 minutes long. Each Poo Palace session will begin with a science experiment with HMRI Gastrointestinal researchers which shows how food is digested and poo is made, followed by going through the interactive, giant inflatable Poo Palace.
Sunday 23rd August
The Poo Palace will be open between 10.00 am - 5.00 pm
Tickets will be available via the Newcastle Museum. Tickets will be released intermittently due to high demand.
Sessions will be 15 minutes long. The HMRI Gastrointestinal researchers will be presenting our poo experiment on the big stage at 12.30 pm on the day.
