Clinical Associate Professor Kylie Bailey is a senior clinical psychologist and clinician researcher with expertise in the treatment of comorbid mental health conditions, trauma, substance use, and chronic pain.
Her research is focused on developing practical, evidence-based solutions to improve outcomes for individuals affected by addiction and mental health issues.
Clinical Associate Professor Bailey has a strong interest in translational research, particularly in enhancing the impact and accessibility of treatment through innovative service models. Her work includes the development of a published treatment manual for youth alcohol use and the design, implementation, and evaluation of a low-intensity, tele-supported cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) program.
Her current projects span multiple areas of health service improvement, including the development of training modules for general practitioners, rapid evidence reviews on addiction workforce strategies, and collaborative clinical trials. She is a co-investigator on the OpioidHALT multisite trial with the University of Sydney’s Pharmacy Department and is a member of the Healthcare Transformation Research Program at the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI).
Clin Associate Professor Bailey is also committed to workforce development and improving models of care across the health system, with a focus on strengthening the delivery and reach of mental health and addiction services.
