The Glen Innes Health Hub opened its doors in May 2025 to deliver a multidisciplinary, community-aligned health service to improve equity of access to primary health care services.
The Glen Innes Health Hub operates within an initiative called ‘Better Health for the Bush’ which is supported by the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network. The Glen Innes Health Hub is operated by Rural Fit, an allied health organisation dedicated to improving the health outcomes of rural communities.
The Glen Innes Health Hub delivers primary health care services including access to a general practitioner, nurse and allied health care professionals. A Service Navigator also supports patients to access the health, wellbeing and social services that they require.
What is being evaluated?
The operation and success of the Glen Innes Health Hub is being evaluated.
The evaluating team are gathering information from clients who have used the service, from people working in the service, and from community members. Documentation associated with the setup of the Glen Innes Health Hub will also be assessed.
All of this information together will help to establish what has worked well, what the barriers were, and whether this model is sustainable, and if it has been successful, whether it can be spread to other locations.
We are keen to hear from you about your experiences with the Glen Innes Health Hub. Any information you choose to give will be confidential and will be unable to be traced back to you.
For additional information about the evaluation and what you are being asked to do, please review the Participant Information Sheet and the Participant Consent Form.
