It is well known, epidemiologically, that the health and wellbeing of populations is closely correlated with the level of cultural engagement and education within the various communities.

With socio-economically disadvantaged young people in particular, exposure to quality music and art experiences (cultural enrichment) places a child in his or her cultural context.
Culturally enriching experiences improve learning, health and wellbeing, giving kids the grounding to survive, improves their confidence and self-esteem, and enhances their standing in their community.
Ultimately, it assists them in finding jobs and establishing a family of their own along the pathway to a satisfying and fulfilling life.
It’s for them that HMRI’s research program E2EEE (Enrich 2 Engage, Educate & Empower) was created. It will provide disadvantaged kids from communities throughout Australia with the cultural tools to build better lives now and maintain good health and wellbeing for many years to come.
You can help simply by voting in the Eftpos Giveback, with up to $2million going to a worthy cause. Please make sure that you highlight “Disadvantaged kids, families and communities”.
HMRI would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, the Awabakal and Worimi peoples, and pay our respects to Elders past and present. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage and beliefs and their continued connection to their land.
