Dr Karen Ribbons has a long-standing career in clinical research and clinical trial management. Research and trials undertaken have spanned a variety of different clinical indications in both the private and public healthcare sectors, undertaken nationally and internationally and in both academic and industry settings. She has been working for the Centre for Rehab Innovations (CRI) for the last 7 years as their project and clinical trials manager. This has involved the management of studies focussing on improving clinical outcomes for patients undergoing total joint replacement including the Flagship CRI project, SuPeR Knee-Support, Predict, Recover and currently the EXTOKA project. Working with industry partners, these projects focus on improving patient outcomes by informing clinical practice and policy with the objective to enhance the translation of research findings into real world practice.
