Dr Kerith Duncanson is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and Senior Research Fellow in Digestive Health at the University of Newcastle. She specialises in the relationship between food, gut health and gastrointestinal conditions, with a strong focus on translating research into practical dietary solutions that improve quality of life.

Dr Duncanson’s career combines over 30 years of clinical dietetic experience with an internationally recognised research program. She is a Chief Investigator with the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Transforming Gut Health, contributing to cutting-edge research on nutrition, the gut microbiome and immune function. In parallel to her academic work, She maintains clinical practice in gastro-dietetics, supporting people with digestive conditions, eating disorders and paediatric feeding challenges. Her dual clinical and research expertise positions her uniquely to bridge the gap between science and real-world care.

Dr Duncanson has shared her research as an author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at international conferences and in the media, with the ultimate goal of empowering individuals and communities with evidence-based nutrition advice to support lifelong gut health and wellbeing.
