Dr Own Griffiths research training focused upon the neurocognitive mechanisms underlying attention and learning, and their applications. He is currently conducting empirical research projects using gaze-tracking, EEG and behavioural measures to investigate
– How AI therapists differ from human therapists,
– How to meaningfully quantify people’s ability to team with AI supports,
– Whether valid and reliable digital clinical assessments can be delivered remotely for low cost.
Before starting at Newcastle, Dr Griffiths was a lecturer and fellow at Flinders University (Adelaide; 2018-2022), a postdoctoral cognition researcher at UNSW Sydney (2010-2017) and maintained a small clinical psychology private practice.
