Dr Scott Twaddell is a clinician and researcher at John Hunter Hospital and Hunter Medical Research Institute.

He has been involved in multiple trials investigating respiratory disease including airways disease, pulmonary fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension and pleural disease. As a Respiratory Physician he has broad skills in clinical medicine including investigation, diagnosis and management of respiratory disease, including complex pulmonary function testing and interventional pulmonology.

Dr Twaddell has authored more than 20 scientific articles (6 first authored) in journals including CHEST, European Respiratory Journal and AJCCRM and 23 conference abstracts, with a field-weighted citation index (FWCI) of 2.58 and h-index of 10 (Scopus 2026). Six articles are in the top 10% of journals. He has received over $130,000 in research funding as CIA and is currently PI on more than 5 clinical trials in various disciplines.
